App Usage Data

• Movies you add to or remove from your personal Watchlist
• Search queries you enter to discover movies
• Genre filters you apply (Action, Adventure, Animation, Comedy, Crime, Documentary, Drama, Family, Fantasy, History, Horror, Music, Mystery, Romance, Science Fiction, TV Movie, Thriller, War, Western)
• Movie detail pages, cast profiles, trailers, reviews, and similar movies you view
• Trending movies and actors you browse

Device & Technical Data

• Device type, OS version, and app version
• Anonymous crash logs and performance diagnostics
• IP address, used for security and abuse prevention only

How We Use Your Information

We use your data solely to power and improve WatchByTesteiiTech:

• Create and manage your account, including login and password recovery
• Store and sync your personal Watchlist across sessions and devices
• Deliver personalised movie discovery via trending, search, genre filters, and coming soon
• Fetch movie details, cast, trailers, reviews, and similar titles via the TMDB API
• Send password-reset emails when you use the Forgot Password feature
• Monitor for fraudulent or abusive account activity
• Diagnose crashes and improve app stability

We do not use your data for advertising, build ad profiles, or share data with ad networks.

Data Sharing & Disclosure

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We share information only in the following limited circumstances:

• TMDB API: Search queries, genre filters, and browsing requests are sent to The Movie Database to retrieve content. See TMDB's Privacy Policy for their practices.
• Service Providers: Trusted vendors (e.g., cloud hosting, email delivery) process data strictly on our behalf under data-processing agreements.
• Legal Obligations: We may disclose data when required by law, court order, or to protect the safety of users or the platform.
• Business Transfer: In the event of a merger or acquisition, data may be transferred with advance notice to you.

Data Storage & Security

• Passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms (bcrypt or equivalent)
• All data is transmitted over HTTPS / TLS-encrypted connections
• Database access is restricted to authorised personnel only
• We conduct periodic security reviews of our infrastructure

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. Account deletion removes your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

Your Rights & Choices

• Watchlist Control: Add or remove movies from your Watchlist at any time within the app
• Change Password: Update your password from Account Settings at any time
• Delete Account: Permanently delete your account and all data from Account Settings → Delete Account
• Access & Portability: Request a copy of your data by contacting us at the email below
• Correction: Contact us to correct inaccurate information
• Withdraw: Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data

We respond to data rights requests within 30 days.

Third-Party Services

WatchByTesteiiTech uses the following external services, each governed by their own privacy policies:

• The Movie Database (TMDB) — movie data, cast, trailers, reviews, trending content, and coming soon listings
• Email delivery provider — transactional emails such as password resets
• Cloud hosting provider — secure storage of account and watchlist data

Trailers are streamed from third-party video platforms (e.g. YouTube). Their own privacy policies apply when you interact with embedded video content.

Children's Privacy

WatchByTesteiiTech is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has registered an account, please contact us and we will remove the account promptly.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. When material changes occur, we will notify you via an in-app banner or push notification before the changes take effect. The latest version is always accessible from the app's Settings screen.

Continued use of WatchByTesteiiTech after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
