We collect information in the following categories to provide and improve BitesByTesteiiTech's features:

Account Information

• Full name you provide at registration
• Email address used to create your account
• Password (stored as a secure, salted hash — never in plain text)

App Usage Data

• Recipes you search for, view, or save to Favourites
• Dietary filters you apply (vegan, gluten-free, ketogenic, Paleolithic)
• Ingredients you enter for fridge-based recipe discovery
• Meal details you submit for nutritional analysis (title, servings, ingredients, instructions)

Device & Technical Data

• Device type, operating system version, and app version
• Anonymous crash logs and performance diagnostics
• IP address (used for security and abuse prevention only)

Your information is used exclusively to deliver, maintain, and improve BitesByTesteiiTech. Specifically:

• Create and manage your account, including login and password recovery
• Display personalised recipe recommendations based on your saved preferences and filters
• Store your favourite recipes so they are accessible across sessions
• Process fridge-ingredient queries and return matched recipe suggestions via the Spoonacular API
• Analyse meals you submit and return nutritional data (calories, macros, vitamins)
• Send password-reset emails when you use the Forgot Password feature
• Detect and prevent fraudulent or abusive activity
• Debug crashes and improve app stability

We do not use your data to serve advertisements, build advertising profiles, or sell data to any third party.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share data only in limited circumstances:

• Spoonacular API: Recipe search queries, ingredient lists, and meal analysis requests are sent to Spoonacular to retrieve results. Please review Spoonacular's Terms for their data practices.
• Service Providers: We may engage trusted vendors (e.g., cloud hosting, email delivery) who process data strictly on our behalf under data-processing agreements.
• Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of BitesByTesteiiTech or its users.
• Business Transfer: In the event of a merger or acquisition, your data may be transferred, and you will be notified in advance.

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data:

• Passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms (bcrypt or equivalent)
• Data is transmitted over HTTPS / TLS-encrypted connections
• Access to production databases is restricted to authorised personnel only
• We conduct regular security reviews of our infrastructure

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data is removed within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

You have the following controls over your data within the app:

• Change Password: Update your password at any time from Account Settings
• Delete Account: Permanently delete your account and all associated data from Account Settings → Delete Account
• Access: You may request a copy of the data we hold about you by contacting us
• Correction: You may update your profile information at any time
• Portability: Request export of your favourites list and usage history
• Withdraw Consent: You may stop using the app at any time; uninstalling removes local data

To exercise data rights not available in-app, email us at the address below. We respond within 30 days.

BitesByTesteiiTech integrates with external services. Their own privacy policies govern their data use:

• Spoonacular Food API — recipe data, nutritional analysis, and ingredient matching
• Email delivery provider — used to send password-reset and transactional emails
• Cloud hosting provider — servers that store account data securely

The Share feature uses your device's native share sheet. We do not control the destination app you share content to.

BitesByTesteiiTech is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or 16 where required by applicable law). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has created an account, please contact us and we will delete the account promptly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you via a push notification or in-app banner before the change takes effect. The updated policy will always be accessible from the app's Settings screen.

Continued use of BitesByTesteiiTech after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
